Dr. Morgan is a senior scientist in the Experimental Therapeutics Program and served as the inaugural director of the Human Imaging Shared Facility of the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center, where she continues to apply her expertise in oncologic imaging to create a systematic approach to tumor imaging surveillance and the development and utilization of imaging biomarkers in patients participating in therapeutic clinical trials.

Dr. Morgan has won numerous teaching awards including the HSOM Dean’s Excellence Award for Teaching and the Argus Award, multiple Outstanding Faculty Lecturer Medical Student Radiology Elective Awards, multiple UAB Department of Radiology Teacher of the Year Distinguished Faculty Awards, and Multiple Louisville Slugger (senior radiology resident) Awards. She is a governor of the American Board of Radiology and previously served as an abdominal trustee and vice chair for diagnostic radiology for the ABR. She serves on multiple national committees for the American Roentgen Ray Society, The Association of University Radiologists, and the Radiological Society of North America. She developed a national patient centered care curriculum for Radiology trainees for the RSNA in July 2018, and created the Clinician Educator Pathway for UAB Radiology residents in 2019. She served on the steering committee and continues to contribute as a mentor for the UAB Healthcare Educators Academy. Dr. Morgan has served the Heersink School of Medicine as Lead Mentor for the Barfield Carter Learning Community for the past three years and looks forward to many more.
