| Aparna Singhal, M.D., completed her medical school training from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, India where she received several awards. She then joined the UCLA Department of Radiology as a post-doctoral research scholar where she worked in the fields of MR Spectroscopy and MR Angiography. After completing her radiology residency training at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Bridgeport, CT, where she served as chief resident for two years, she came to UAB for her neuroradiology fellowship training. Since subsequently joining as faculty in the neuroradiology section, Dr. Singhal has excelled in various leadership roles as the Neuroradiology Fellowship Program Director from 2016-2019 and the Neuroradiology Section Chief from 2019-2023. Dr. Singhal is certified by the American Board of Radiology with also a certification of added qualification in Neuroradiology. She is actively involved in various departmental and national society committees and is a clinical educator with several publications, exhibits and presentations to her credit. Her areas of interest are head and neck imaging and quality improvement. She has led the brain curriculum subcommittee for the ASNR fellowship curriculum for several years. She is also a passionate advocate for women in medicine and is involved in many related national organization activities. She was recently awarded the Dr. Katherine A.
