Congratulations to the Division of Pediatric Surgery’s Elizabeth Beierle, M.D., and Colin Martin, M.D., who were recently awarded grants from the Kaul Pediatric Research Institute.

Beierle’s proposal, “Role of PIM Kinase in maintaining hepatoblastoma tumor initiating cell population,” was awarded $50,000 per year for a two-year period, while Martin’s proposal, “Maternal and environmental influence of early neonatal immunity,” was awarded $30,000 per year for a two-year period.
