Research/Clinical Interest Description: Dr. Kharlampieva’s research centers at the intersection of polymer chemistry, nanotechnology, and biomedical science. The research program focuses on synthesis and assembly of nanostructures and polymers to develop bio-mimetic materials as novel “smart” platforms for therapeutic application and regenerative medicine, such as controlled cell encapsulation/transplantation, drug delivery, and artificial tissue. She has authored about 50 articles/books and she is serving as a regular reviewer for NSF proposals and for numerous journals. She also serves as an Instrument Advisory Team Member at Oak Ridge National lab (ORNL), Spallation Neutron Source (SNS) and High Flux Isotope Reactor (HFIR) from 2006. Recently she has been selected as an Executive Committee member of SHUG (SNS and HFIR User Group) at ORNL.
