Alumna named nurse anesthesia program administrator for Florida State University Panama City

University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing alumna Stacey VanDyke, DNP, CRNA, has been named Program Administrator for the Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia program at Florida State University Panama City. VanDyke will retire as a lieutenant colonel from the U.S. Air Force this fall.

She is director of the Nurse Anesthesia Clinical Residency Training Program at Eglin Hospital and has worked as an adjunct instructor at Florida State University Panama City since May. VanDyke joined the U.S. Air Force in 1996 and served in Balad, Iraq, in 2009 where she led eight anesthesia providers, trained Special Forces medics in advanced airway techniques, and provided trauma care to more than 250 patients.

VanDyke earned her DNP degree from the UAB School of Nursing in 2013.
