UAB's PREP Scholars Program provides students with the skills and competencies necessary to enter distinguished graduate programs in a biomedical sciences research field. Students are paired with faculty for hands-on research projects and provided an individual development plan. 

During the training period, trainees should expect to receive:

• Stipend of $33,000 per year
• Health insurance
• Tuition for up to 11 credit hours per year of graduate level academic instruction and research ethics training
• Individualized development plans
• Hands on practice and mentoring in research
• Test taking prep and strategies
• Workshops and numerous presentation opportunities to improve scientific communication skills
• Travel to national scientific conference
