Explore UAB

Most of your time in the UAB PREP program involves full-time, hands-on research activities in the laboratory of a UAB faculty member. This will help you gain research experience crucial to entry into a top doctoral graduate program.

We will match you with an NIH-funded mentor. A list of potential mentors with links to their laboratory web pages is provided to each PREP Scholar prior to orientation, and we will help you choose a mentor who best matches your interests.

Some of the faculty members who have provided mentorship to our students are included below. A full list of possible mentors can be found on the Graduate Biomedical Sciences website.
