UAB students who need to be vaccinated have many opportunities (and incentives) available on campus. Student Health Services offers appointments for vaccination as well as pop-up clinics across campus. See details here.
There will also be a large vaccination event on the Campus Green Sept. 21-22 from 2-6 p.m. Students can get vaccinated and receive either a “Vaxxed and Back” shirt or UAB Blazer ball cap. In addition, the first 200 students to register onsite will get a $75 gift card to the UAB Bookstore!
Once you are vaccinated, please upload your information into the Student Patient Portal here. There are several incentives for students who do.
- New incentives: Student Affairs will host a series of drawings for incentives for vaccinated students. The prizes include:
- Up to ten tickets to the UAB vs. Georgia away game (AWARDED)
- Up to ten tickets to the UAB vs. Tulane away game (AWARDED)
- Ten $1,000 tuition/book scholarships
- Ten $1,000 on-campus housing scholarships
- Five parking passes
- All students: All students vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus will get $20 in Blazer Bucks when they upload their info into their Student Patient Portal by September 30. Also, students who complete their vaccination at the UAB Student Health Services Clinic or at one of the UAB Student Affairs vaccination pop-up events will get either a free “Vaxxed and Back” T-shirt or UAB ball cap.
- On-campus Housing Students: Residential students who have a record in Student Health Services of having been vaccinated will receive a $30 textbook voucher.
- Registered Student Organizations: Registered Student Organizations who have 70% of their student members vaccinated (and with their info uploaded into the patient portal) by September 30, 2021, will receive $150-$500 to use toward catering, allowed purchases and/or student travel, based on the size of their organization.
