UAB Veteran Services will host Spring 2020 Green Zone Training on March 10 from 9-11 a.m. in the Hill Student Center Ballroom. Green Zone Training is designed to provide faculty and staff with tools to better serve and support the needs of the over 3,000 veteran and active military students at UAB.

Green Zone training attendees will be able to:
- provide student veterans with support and information about resources
- identify barriers, issues and concerns student veterans and active military face
- gain tools to help, equip and guide student veterans’ overall academic experience  
- identify on-campus resources for student veterans’ mental health
- recognize signs from specific mental and emotional challenges student veterans face and provide resources for support

Following training, attendees will be presented with a certificate of completion and will be regarded as “Green Zone Ambassadors.” They will also receive stickers to display outside of their offices to let others know that they can provide support and information about resources for student veterans and active military members.
