As UAB prepares for the start of the fall semester, the Hill Student Center is sharing several important updates for students, faculty and staff, including fall operating hours, temporary restroom changes during Panhellenic Recruitment Week and the Labor Day holiday schedule.
Fall Operating Hours
Beginning Sunday, Aug. 16, the Hill Student Center will operate on the following schedule:
Monday-Thursday: 7 a.m.-9 p.m.
Friday: 7 a.m.-6 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Sunday: Noon-9 p.m.
Panhellenic Recruitment Week
The Hill Student Center will welcome UAB sororities for Panhellenic Recruitment Week, Aug. 19-22. To support recruitment activities, all third- and fourth-floor restrooms will be reserved for participating sororities and unavailable for public use during this period.
Students, employees and visitors should use restrooms on the first and second floors.
Visitors should also expect increased activity and noise along the third-floor ballroom corridor. Regular operations for offices on the third floor are expected to continue without interruption.
Labor Day Weekend Closure
The Hill Student Center will close at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, for the Labor Day holiday weekend and is scheduled to reopen at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7.
Reporting Maintenance and Housekeeping Concerns
Students, faculty, staff and visitors can help the Hill Student Center Operations team quickly identify maintenance and housekeeping needs throughout the facility.
Concerns in offices, common areas or around the exterior of the building can be reported by calling 934-WORK (9675). Reporting issues directly helps ensure they are documented and routed for attention as quickly as possible.
