Vishwadha Gunda, of Montgomery, was named Miss UAB 2018 at the highly-anticipated scholarship pageant on Friday, Nov. 3 in the Hill Student Center. Gunda, a sophomore public health major, was awarded a $2,500 scholarship, as well as a $200 scholarship for winning the Talent Award for her self-choreographed Bollywood dance.

The Miss UAB Scholarship Pageant is an official preliminary to the Miss Alabama and Miss America pageants.
