Student Experience

UAB’s Black fraternities and sororities are preparing for the ultimate Greek performance competition: the stroll-off. The National Panhellenic Council (NPC) and the Black Student Awareness Committee (BSAC) will host the event Oct. 19, starting at 7 p.m. The stroll-off will take place at the Hill Student Center.

Strolling is a traditional dance routine first created and performed by historically-black sororities and fraternities members in the early 1900s. Still widely popular, Greek organizations often travel to conferences to perform their signature strolls before thousands of spectators. Campus-wide attendance is anticipated for this NPC tradition. Last year, students cheered loudly for their friends and favorite Greek organizations performances. Don’t miss this event!

BSAC and NPC’s strolling competition will feature the following sororities and fraternities: Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.; Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.; Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.; Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.; Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.; Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. and Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.

All students and staff are welcome. General admission is $10. Admission for Greek affiliated students is $5. Tickets are available at One Stop, located on the first floor of the Hill Student Center.
