Student Experience

With the date set for Wednesday, February 6, University Recreation students and staff are already planning to make their Health and Wellness Fair larger than last year’s. Many UAB, as well as off-campus organizations, departments and programs will offer top-of-the-line services to students and the Birmingham community. Some of last year’s on-campus organizations included Active Minds, Recycling and Sustainability, 1917 Clinic, Disability Support Services and Student Counseling Services. Alabama Vaccine Research Clinic, Mountain High Outfitters, Alabama Partners for Clean Air and Magic City Acceptance Center all previously attended. Select tables at the fair will have free swag and candy ready for attendees to grab during the event.

Activities such as chair massages, vision screenings, fitness assessments, cooking demonstrations, a blood drive and more will be available at the fair. The event begins at 10 a.m. in the Rec Center Gym, and it will end at 2 p.m. Students will have the opportunity to win prizes by entering drawings at the event. Entry is free to all students, staff and Birmingham residents.
