Kian Kolahdouzan, a neuroscience major with an accelerated Master of Public Health at UAB, shared his journey from Mississippi to UAB, which will culminate at the Spring commencement ceremony on Friday, April 26, 2024.

Highlighting his extensive involvement in various campus activities, Kian reflected on the uncertainties he faced during the COVID-19 pandemic and how he initially connected with students through Zoom meetings.

Kian holds his father as his role model, crediting him with inspiring his pursuit of higher education and instilling a strong work ethic. His advice to incoming students emphasizes personal growth and the importance of avoiding comparisons.

Looking ahead, Kian's aspirations include attending medical school and positively impacting his community.
