More student services coming to meet record enrollment numbers

UAB Headcount Enrollment Report, Fall Semester 2013UAB keeps breaking its own records, and students are responsible.

For the fifth-straight year, UAB's enrollment numbers are at a record high. The latest figures show 18,568 students enrolled for the fall 2013 semester, a 3.6% increase over last year.

According to a release from UAB News:
Increases were seen from 2012 among freshmen, transfer students, undergraduates and master’s-level students: the freshmen class increased 5.8 percent to 1,773 students; incoming transfer students increased 10 percent to 1,397; and master’s-level enrollment increased 8.7 percent to 4,650 students.
More students also brings an increased need for student services. You've likely already noticed the beginnings of construction on a new and improved student center (to replace Hill University Center). A new residence hall is also in the works to bring additional capacity to the currently full on-campus housing, as well as a new Student Health and Wellness Center.

It's a great time to be a Blazer. And the numbers show that more and more people are realizing that fact.
