Inaugural Freshman Run

If you thought the Freshman Run was some sort of jogging event, you're in for a surprise.  It involves running, but on some very different turf.
Do you remember being told that coming to UAB meant you would get to help build tradition?  This is one of those moments.

The UAB Freshman class of 2015 has been chosen as the first class to run out of the tunnel onto Legion Field.  Be there Saturday, September 17, 2011 at 3pm for the football home opener when the UAB Blazers battle the Tulane Green Wave.  All UAB Freshmen can charge out of the tunnel at halftime, so wear green and be loud!  The freshman tailgate will begin at 12:00pm next to Blazer Village in Lot M of Legion Field, and you'll find free food, music and t-shirts there.

"It is very appropriate that the UAB Class of 2015 will lead the way for the home opener," says UAB President Carol Garrison."  These students are the pacesetters who will help lead UAB and our local and global community toward a brighter future. Go Blazers."

Need a ride to the game?  We'll pick you up.  Free shuttle buses will be available to all UAB fans from UAB to Legion Field for all home games for the season. There will be several buses and one handicapped-equipped bus available. Buses will leave from the Blazer-Camp Hall circle to Legion Field beginning two hours prior to each home game.

For more info on the shuttles, email or call 975-5376.  Sponsored by Student Life
and Housing and Residential Life.

Be there for the inaugural FRESHMAN RUN 2011!
