1. Why is UAB instituting a standard schedule?
UAB is instituting a standard schedule as part of its efforts to improve retention and graduation rates. The lack of a standard schedule in the past has prevented us from utilizing our academic spaces most efficiently, and it has also created schedule challenges for many of our students because of overlapping class times. The move to a standard schedule also will allow more instructors to utlize "smart" classrooms.

2. How does the standard schedule place more classes in "smart" classrooms?
The standard schedule allows for courses in "smart" classrooms to be scheduled most efficiently. By creating common start and end times for courses, "smart" classrooms can hold more classes each day. Data analysis has suggested that we will likely be able to accommodate approximately twice as many courses in these rooms.

3. I'm a staff member who enters the course schedule for my school/department. How do I know which meeting codes I can use?
