Nurture your spiritual life as you prepare for your professional life.
Networking. Leadership. Service. Lifelong friendships. Secret handshakes. (We’re pretty sure about that last one.)
Taking on a leadership role at UAB can help your advancement both inside and outside of the classroom.
Multicultural & Diversity Programs
UAB continues to receive high rankings for diversity, but those ratings aren't just based on demographics. We're recognized for our constant work to encourage engagement across cultures.
Service & Volunteering
One of the most rewarding things you can do with your "spare" time is serve others, whether on campus or off.
Get your byline (or your voice) out there, share your views, and make your mark on campus—and beyond campus—with UAB’s active and respected student media.
Hundreds of student-grown groups for you to browse—French Club, Rugby Football Club, and B'ham Slackers (yes, that's their real name) are just a few.
University Programs Board
The UPC puts together a variety of programs including spirit and traditions like Welcome Week, Talent Search, and Springfest; entertainment such as concerts, comedians, and movies; and special events like the Fall Concert and the Miss UAB Scholarship Pageant.
Experts recommend two hours of studying for every hour spent in class. Doctors recommend eight hours of sleep a night. That leaves 67 hours to sit around and get bored—or to get out and do something exciting with all that UAB has to offer.
