The University of Alabama at Birmingham houses over 20 NIH Institutional Training Programs that support predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees across a variety of interdisciplinary research programs in public health and related areas. To be eligible for institutional training support predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees in most cases must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. Other eligibility criteria may apply based on the individual training program. Faculty members who are interested in nominating a trainee for an institutional training program should contact the project P.I.

TGSO Support
The Training Grant Support Office (TGSO) supports faculty by providing official institutional data for the preparation of institutional training proposals. These include:
- Data Table Preparation Assistance
- Institutional ad hoc reporting and data
- Current list of successful proposals (from CCTS Grant Library)
