Students can purchase both their summer semester and 2019-20 academic year parking permits beginning April 1st. Summer parking options will remain the same, with the exception that Zone C will not be offered. UAB Transportation will introduce new zone options for the fall and spring semesters to reduce the time spent searching for a parking space.
The expanded zone program groups parking facilities based on proximity. Students will have the option to choose among seven zones with Zones A through G available to all students and Zone 7 reserved for housing students. Permits will still be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Students are encouraged to apply early to ensure their desired zone is still available, as exchanges may not be possible. To assist students in determining their best parking option, UAB Transportation has provided a table of estimated walking distances from each zone to a list of the most popular academic buildings.
