With the upcoming demolition of the Education Building, Lot 16A will be permanently closed in order to construct the new UAB Science and Engineering Complex. This closure is effective Jan. 1, 2021.

Because of this project, UAB Transportation has re-evaluated all Lot 16 parking assignments:

• The surface parking lot on the north side of the Humanities Building (Zone B-2) will be reclassified as an employee-only parking lot (Lot 65).
• Current Lot 16 permit holders will receive a new parking assignment in the month of December.
  • Permit holders will be contacted directly by UAB Transportation regarding their new assignments.
  • Efforts have been made to ensure all new assignments are in the closest lot or deck possible to the permit holder’s primary office location, as provided by UAB Human Resources.
