The UAB Center for Community OutReach Development (CORD) is pleased
to host the 2010 Central Alabama Regional Science and Engineering Fair. The Fair is open to all middle and high school students in Bibb,
Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Chilton, Cleburne, Etowah, Jefferson, St. Clair, Shelby, Talladega, Walker, and Winston counties. Typically, students must
win 1-3 place in their school or district Science and Engineering Fair. However, if your school does
not have a fair, or if the school's fair occurs after the UAB Fair, you may compete in the UAB Fair by
recommendation from your science teacher. Regional Fair 1st and 2nd place winners in each category will
advance to compete at the State Fair and 4 will automatically advance to the Intel International
Fair (high school only). Eligible State Fair 1-3 place winners will also advance to the Intel
International Science and Engineering Fair.
To Advance to the Alabama State Fair and the Intel International Fair,
students MUST complete all requirements prior to the deadlines designated
by the Intel Science Fair Guidelines. Students who fail to meet the deadlines,
may exhibit at the UAB-CORD Regional Science Fair as long as they meet the requirements
by the date of the Regional Fair, but they will be eligible only for local prizes.
All presenters must meet the Intel Science Fair, animal protection and human use requirements
prior to being allowed to present.
