Gear-Up Jefferson County Summer Science Programs
(Only for students in the Gear-Up Jefferson County Program)

CORD Summer STEM programs will be VIRTUAL
and are now open for registration.

While due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CORD in-person Summer Sessions for 2020 were cancelled, including SSI I-III, Summer Science Camps and our various Bridge Programs, CORD is offering online versions of its Summer Science Camps, Bridges and SSI I and II experiences that students can safely carry out at home. The details for these is now provided in the links below. In each experience, the student will receive a kit that they can use at home in association with the Instructors daily Zoom class.

Note that most CORD personnel are working from home until the UAB Administration indicates that we can safely return to work. Thus, the CORD offices will be closed until that return, but we are as quickly as possible responding to e-mails.

On behalf of the CORD Staff, Thank You for your continued support of CORD. Stay well and we will all get through these challenging times together.

CORD offers grade K-12 students and teachers from all areas in-depth, hands-on, inquiry-based science experiences both during the school year and in our more intense summer programs. Students experience these programs at their Birmingham area schools, at CORD’s GENEius and LabWorks classrooms at the McWane Science Center and in CORD’s laboratory classrooms at UAB.

CORD offices are located on the fifth floor of the Community Health Services Building 19 (CHSB19), 933 Nineteenth Street South, Birmingham, Alabama 35294-2041; Phone (205) 934-5171; Fax (205) 934-5158; Email: ccord@uab.edu.
