That data is helping us better understand living systems and is starting to be used to help guide treatment of human disease through precision medicine. But that data must be organized, managed, and analyzed — and that’s bioinformatics. It’s a key step toward advancing precision medicine. And as a Bioinformatics major at UAB, you’ll be well prepared to enter a future where computer science and health science intersect.
