Career: Consultant, Waldorf/Steiner schoolsDr. Lisa Grupe consults with Waldorf/Steiner schools in North America after having retired from a 20-year career at Alabama Waldorf School/The Redmont School in the Waldorf Tradition which included a decade of directorship and a decade of teaching a single class from Grade 1 to Grade 8. A deep understanding of child development is the foundation for Waldorf/Steiner schools, so UAB's Developmental Psychology Ph.D. was a perfect fit for Dr. Grupe. While at UAB, Dr. Grupe enjoyed teaching PY 212, 363, 415 (Developmental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Seminar in Mental Retardation/Developmental Disabilities) and published several chapters and papers on children's memory development and math strategy use.
