The costume studio is fully equipped with domestic and industrial sewing machines and sergers, industrial irons, four large cutting tables, dress forms, rolling racks and a curtained off fitting area.
The studio is a large, open space with ample natural light. The attached laundry and dye area is outfitted with two washing machines, dryer, large laundry sink, industrial dye vat, flammables cabinet, and a small vented spray booth. The costume studio is located on the first floor of the Alys Stephens Center directly inside the Department of Theatre entrance, with easy access to Sirote and Odess Theatre dressing rooms. Costume storage is located on the second floor, with additional storage in Bell Building.
The costume area is staffed with a faculty costume designer and costume director, and a full-time costume studio manager. Stipend opportunities are available for interested students.
