OUTCOME C6:  The UAB counselor candidate uses appropriate theories and techniques with groups.

C6.K Knowledge and Understanding: Knows and understands both theoretical and experiential understandings of group purpose, development, dynamics; counseling theories; group counseling methods and skills; principles of group dynamics; group leadership; group theories, group counseling methods; approaches used for different types of groups; professional preparation standards for group leaders; and ethical and legal considerations.

Needs further development in this area.

 Able to demonstrate an understanding of group theories, dynamics, leadership and methods of group counseling in an ethical and legal manner most of the time. Individual is functioning at a level of proficiency.
