About Health Education

Health educators work to encourage healthy lifestyles and wellness through educating individuals and communities about behaviors that promote healthy living and prevent diseases and other health problems.  The health educator roles and responsibilities include:  assessing needs, identifying assets, planning and implementing programs and services, conducting research, and communicating and advocating for health and wellness initiatives.  Through a unique blend of education and research, health educators empower communities to make informed choices regarding health and wellness.
