Educational Leadership student features in Birmingham Market Magazine for "Boys to Men" mentoring program

Herbert Blackmon, a graduate student in the educational leadership program at UAB, is featured in the spring edition of Birmingham Market Magazine. Blackmon is recognized for his work with the "Boys to Men" mentoring program at Huffman Middle School. Blackmon mentors 30 eighth graders at the school and states the program gives students a home and motivates them to be successful in every area of their lives. Since Boys to Men began at Huffman Middle School in 2003, more than 200 boys have participated in the program. The program started as a class project in a 2004 EDL class that Loucrecia Collins taught.
