The Counselor Education Program recently hosted a community workshop on Impact Therapy, a multi-sensory and motivational approach to counseling. Zeta Honor Society sponsored breakfast & breaks. Sixty school counselors, clinical mental health counselors, social workers, students, and counselor educators were present. Participants were from the local area, north Alabama, and south Alabama. Participants noted the greatest highlights of Impact Therapy were:  the focus on theoretically driven practice, its creative use of props to help clients create new pathways of thinking, and the intentionality of the approach in helping clients move to a deeper level.
