Students are admitted for all terms. You can apply to the program through the UAB Graduate School application. Visit the UAB Graduate School website for more information about the application process.

Program Requirements

1. Applicants to the MSEM degree are expected to have:
   • An undergraduate engineering degree that is either ABET-accredited or is recognized as substantially equivalent through the Washington Accord with a GPA of 3.0 or greater OR
   • Junior or senior in good standing with 3.0 GPA in an engineering degree program as defined above.
2. For applicants from non-English speaking countries:
   • TOEFL score of 80 (with a minimum score of 18 on each subsection) or higher (Institution code – 1856 for TOEFL) OR
   • IETLS score of 6.5 or higher.

Admission Requirements

The following are the admissions requirements:

• Resume/CV
• Standard personal statement
• Two letters of recommendation
• Interview with the committee or a committee member

The GRE test score is not required for this program. Summer coursework is available, but is not required.
