University of Alabama at Birmingham Department of Neurosurgery Assistant Professor Nicole Bentley, M.D., was recently promoted to associate professor and awarded tenure.
 
Bentley, who joined the department in 2018, specializes in deep brain stimulation, epilepsy surgery and functional movement disorders.
 
After attending Medical College of Georgia, where she earned her medical degree, Bentley completed her residency and post-doctoral research at the University of Michigan. Bentley continued her neurosurgical training as a functional neurosurgery fellow at Emory University.
 
Since joining the UAB Department of Neurosurgery, Bentley has made many valuable contributions to the field of neurosurgery and to the Heersink School of Medicine.
