Canon elected vice president of American College of Radiology

Canon CL 2016Cheri Canon, M.D., F.A.C.R., chair of the UAB Department of Radiology was appointed vice president of the American College of Radiology (ACR) at the ACR 2016 Annual Meeting.

ACR was founded in 1924 with the core purpose of empowering radiology professionals in order to better serve patients and society. ACR now has more than 37,000 members, including diagnostic radiologists, interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians and medical physicists.

Canon has served as the chair of the ACR Commission on Education for the past six years and sits on the Board of Chancellors.

Canon joined UAB’s faculty after completing her residency training in Diagnostic Radiology. She has served as chair of Radiology since 2010. Her area of clinical practice is abdominal imaging.
