Pediatric neurosurgery staff represents UAB globally

On Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023, at the 2023 Joint Pediatric Section Annual Meeting in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Smith delivered a talk titled “Feasibility and Acceptability of Double Fortified Salt with Iodine and Folic Acid: Prospective Clinical Study” and Gonzalez presented “Modular Toolkit for Development of Effective, Ethical, and Equitable Neurophysiology Education and Collaboration.”

On Thursday, Dec. 7, 2023, at the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies’ 18th World Congress of Neurosurgery, held in Cape Town, South Africa, Smith presented “Feasibility and Acceptability of Double Fortified Salt with Iodine and Folic Acid: Pilot Clinical Study” during the Global Neurosurgery III session. Gonzalez delivered a talk titled “Political Priority of Global Neurosurgery” during the Maximizing Impact: Neurosurgeons in Policy session on Friday, Dec. 8, 2023.
