The UAB School of Medicine will celebrate Match Day 2014 on Friday, March 21, at the Alys Stephens Performing Arts Center, when members of the graduating class learn in which medical specialty they have “matched” and where they will carry out their residency training.
The first match will be announced at 11 a.m. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. with a short program beginning at 10:30 a.m. You can watch the ceremony live at www.uab.edu/matchday and read tweets from the UAB School of Medicine (@UABSOM) on Twitter.
Match Day is coordinated by the National Resident Matching Program, which provides an impartial venue for matching residency programs with more than 17,000 U.S. medical school students and more than 15,000 independent applicants—including graduates from international medical and U.S. osteopathic schools— who compete for available positions each year.
