diversity awardThe Offices of the Vice President for Equity and Diversity and the Office of the Vice Provost for Student and Faculty Success announce the open nominations for the 2016 President's Diversity Award, an annual honor recognizing significant achievements of full-time faculty, staff and students toward developing a more culturally diverse, competent and inclusive university community.

Awards are given in each of five categories (faculty, staff, undergraduate, graduate student and professional student) for projects or activities that best reflect the implementation of unit and/or campus diversity goals. Nominees in each area must address the significance, implementation and impact of the nominee’s action or project.

Any member of the UAB community can nominate a full-time faculty member, staff member or student for the awards. A nomination packet should include: a completed nomination form, nomination letter, letters of support (up to three) and supporting evidence of the nominee’s work.

Deadline for nominations is Friday, Oct. 23. Nomination packets should be sent to the appropriate dean, vice president, library director or their designee for review. Only complete nomination packets will be considered.

The winners will be announced at the President's Diversity Awards Luncheon on January 28, 2016.
