The Department of Otolaryngology welcomes fourth-year U.S. and international visiting medical students. Andrew Fuson, M.D., is the Medical Student Clerkship Director and assistant professor of the Department of Otolaryngology.

For fourth-year U.S. students, please complete your application in the Visiting Student Application System (VSAS). You may submit applications in VSAS on April 1^st.  VSAS applications begin processing on May 1^st.

Fourth-year medical students will spend one week on each service (head and neck, general, otology, pediatrics).  During this time, you will be asked to meet with faculty from our residency program interview committee.  If you decide to apply for an otolaryngology residency at UAB, your visit will be considered your interview. You will not need to return to UAB, but you will be considered for ranking along with our other applicants at the end of the interview season.
