Application

All applications must be submitted in ERAS and all invitations to interview will be sent through ERAS.

Applicants will have 72 hours to respond to an interview invitation. After that time, we will release the interview slot to another applicant.

We will notify applicants of their status by November 15, 2023; statuses include Invited to Interview, Waitlisted, Under Consideration, or No Longer Under Consideration for Interview. We commit that we will not invite more applicants to interview than the number of available interview slots.

Interview Format and Details

All residency interviews will be conducted virtually for the 2023-2024 recruitment season, as based on guidance from the Association of American Medical Colleges.

Our interview day begins at 8:00am Central Time. All applicants will participate in informational presentations and meetings with program leadership from 8:00-10:00am. Applicants are then split into two even groups with individual interviews scheduled either 10:00am-12:00pm or 1:00-3:00pm, with a 15-minute wrap-up at the end of each individual interview block. Applicants will be assigned to morning or afternoon interview groups one week prior to the interview date.

Chief Residents host a virtual social hour on the evening prior to the interview. Attendance at this event is not required to be considered for a position, but we hope that applicants are able to attend, as this is a fun opportunity to get to know our residents in a casual setting.

We embrace a holistic interview process to take into consideration applicants’ experiences and attributes, as well as the value an applicant would contribute to our program’s educational mission. All interviewers participate in implicit bias training. Interviewers are blinded to applicants’:

Ethnic and racial background
Work authorization/VISA status
USMLE/COMLEX scores
Medical school transcripts
MSPE

Supplemental Application

Our program has opted into program signaling for the 2024 ERAS season. However, program signaling and/or selection of geographic preferences are not required to be selected for an interview.
