Janelle West, M.D.

Janelle West, M.D., obtained her undergraduate degrees at Birmingham-Southern College and secured her doctorate at UAB School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. She completed a Transitional Year internship at Brookwood Baptist Health before leaving Birmingham to continue training in Diagnostic Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She returned to Alabama for subspecialized training in Abdominal Imaging and was presented with the Outstanding Fellow Award for dedication and excellence in teaching at the conclusion of her fellowship.

Dr. West emphasizes a multimodality imaging approach in patient care to ensure accurate diagnosis and is therefore proficient in fluoroscopy, radiography, ultrasound, CT, and MRI. Additionally, she performs image-guided procedures with utilization of CT and ultrasound. Dr. West embodies a particular penchant for teaching, especially at the resident level of education. Her clinical interests focus on prostate imaging and the expansion of PET/MRI in routine clinical use.
