The human body is fragile and subject to physical injuries and the consequences of hemorrhage, resuscitation, and penetrant and non-penetrant brain injuries. Department of Surgery trauma research studies various aspects of human trauma aimed at better understanding and treating human trauma and the conditions associated with it that are encountered in acute surgery.
