Biography

Dr. Peyton joins UAB having completed training at Wake Forest University followed by urologic oncology fellowship at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, FL. He has clinical interest in the diagnosis, management and treatment of complex urologic cancers including bladder, testicular, kidney, prostate and penile cancers. Dr. Peyton specializes in both minimally invasive (laparoscopic and robotic) and open surgical techniques. Surgical approach and decision making focus on optimizing patient outcomes and cancer control while minimizing risk. Dr. Peyton applies a multidisciplinary, personalized approach to the management and treatment of urologic cancers.

His research interests include:

  • Health related quality of life related to bladder cancer and cystectomy 

  • Optimal multidisiplinary therapy to treatment of urologic malignancies

  • Quality reporting and outcomes research related urologic oncology 

  • Outcome predictors for renal cell carcinoma

Dr. Peyton is currently accepting new patients and referrals.
