Accreditation

The UAB School of Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and  approved by the Alabama Board of Nursing (ABN)In 2010, the UAB School of Nursing received the 10-year maximum accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) for its baccalaureate and master’s programs and five-year maximum accreditation for its Joint Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program. This extends accreditation for the baccalaureate and master's programs through June 2020 and Joint DNP program through October 2015. The Nurse Anesthesia Program also received the 10-year maximum accreditation in 2010 from the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs.

The School has program approval from the Pediatric Certification Board (PCNB) for: 1) Primary Care Nurse Practitioner; and 2) Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Additionally, the School is in compliance with the National Certification Corporation for: 1) Neonatal Nurse Practitioners; and 2) Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner Option.

The Joint DNP program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) School of Nursing, developed jointly by the UAB School of Nursing, the College of Nursing at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH), and the Capstone College of Nursing at the University of Alabama, is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, One Dupont Circle, NW, Suite 530, Washington, DC 20036, (202) 887-6791.

Prospect Ave., Park Ridge, IL 60068; (847) 655-1160. The program's next review by the COA is scheduled for Fall 2020.
