Welcome from our Chairman
Patients who place their trust in our care is our greatest priority. And so it is our mission to combine excellence in clinical care, research, and education toward the pursuit of curing cancer for our patients. Our experienced and knowledgeable physicians, physicists, and staff utilize the most advanced technology and techniques available to deliver a nationally recognized quality of patient care.
Further, our faculty and staff understand that the diagnosis of cancer is a life-altering event for both the patient and their loved ones. Our team of associates makes a point to understand your specific needs and to then provide compassionate care and social support services designed specifically to make this trying time as manageable as possible. We offer educational and support groups taught by our nursing and social staff, assistance with transportation and lodging needs, and help with pain management, just to name a few of our services. We even offer free valet parking at the front door to make your visits with us as convenient and comfortable as possible. We frequently receive letters from patients expressing appreciation for the day-to-day compassionate care delivered by our dedicated faculty and staff.
In addition, our clinical and research faculty continue to progress towards advancements in cancer treatment. In 2006, international research coordinated by our faculty was named one of the top six advances in the world by the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Our investigational treatments are founded on the basis of combining technically sophisticated radiotherapy with new therapeutic approaches. We will continue to define the best method of integrating therapies such as monoclonal antibody therapy and gene therapy with advanced radiation therapy and chemotherapy.
As you explore our website, I hope you find it to be a valuable tool as you learn more about radiation oncology and how it can help you. For further information, please contact our department at (205) 934-5670.
