The UAB chapter of Engineers Without Borders will hold a Jason’s Deli box lunch delivery fundraiser Wednesday, March 10, to support the group’s upcoming humanitarian trip to Zambia.

Students will travel to the African nation at the end of the current academic year to begin the construction of a training center that will house educators who will promote a variety of skills to residents of the region, including water purification, adult literacy, sustainable agriculture and more.

The Jason’s Deli box lunches are $10 each and include a sandwich of your choice. Sandwich options are roasted turkey, ham, chicken salad and veggie. The meals also include a pickle spear, potato chips, chocolate chip cookie, condiments and a napkin. A gallon of sweet tea will be included for any campus department ordering 10 or more lunch deliveries.

So, why sit in lunch hour traffic, then fight for a parking spot and table when delicious lunches can be delivered right to your door – and you’ll be supporting a worthy cause? All the proceeds benefit UAB Engineers Without Borders chapter and will help support student travel to Zambia during the group’s three-year project there.

How you can help
Interested parties must order their lunches in advance during the week of March 1-5. E-mail Chris Morrow at chrissmorrow@gmail.com to receive an order form. Order forms with payment will be collected Friday, March 5, before 5 p.m. Lunches then will be delivered to your offices on Wednesday, March 10. Receipts will not be provided.

There is a five-order minimum per drop-off location. So if you can’t get five people from your department signed up, find at least five others in your building who want to order. Only locations with a minimum of five orders each will receive deliveries.

Please note: The Jason’s Deli box lunch delivery is only available to UAB departments located in the Southside area of Birmingham.
