Faculty, staff, and students participate in professional, University, and community service activities.

serviceThe Adult Program of United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Birmingham provides a variety of services for adults with disabilities with the goal of improving their independence. Typically, adult clients at UCP do not receive regular physical therapy services. To help with this need in our community, Dr. Jennifer Christy accompanies and supervises DPT students as they provide weekly physical therapy sessions. The students assess the needs of clients, and provide one on one interventions to improve their mobility. This service benefits not only the clients who receive physical therapy, but also the DPT students who have the opportunity to learn as they interact and work with these very special individuals.
