UAB Veterans Services will host Green Zone Training on Tuesday, Nov. 9 from 8 a.m -12 p.m. in the Hill Student Center Ballroom C & D. Green Zone Training provides faculty and staff with tools to better serve and support the needs of the over 3,000 veteran and active military students on campus.
Green Zone training attendees will be able to:
- provide student veterans with support and information about resources
- identify barriers, issues and concerns student veterans and active military face
- gain tools to help, equip and guide student veterans’ overall academic experience
- identify on-campus resources for student veterans’ mental health
- recognize signs from specific mental and emotional challenges student veterans face and provide resources for support
