Un Dragón de Groenlandia
Blaze es un dragón verde que es de Groenlandia, donde todo es verde. Su madre fue un pájaro y su padre fue un serpiente. Pero su padre no era una serpiente ordinaria. Su padre sedujo a la madre de Blaze con la energía antigua de su bisabuelo, el que había seducido a Adán y Eva. Usualmente, un pájaro y una serpiente producirán juntos un dragón gigante que puede respirar fuego. Sin embargo, esta energía malvada causó que Blaze sufriera una mutación en un cromosoma que hizo que éste sólo creciera al tamaño humano. Aparte de la falta de estatura, no podía respirar fuego porque el fuego de un dragón viene de su orgullo y autoconfianza, pero Blaze no tenía confianza. Durante toda su vida, Blaze no podía encajar con otros dragones. Todos se burlaban de él por ser demasiado pequeño y no ser espantoso.
Blaze decidió que era tiempo de cambiar. Él investigó en la Internet para encontrar ayuda. Entonces, encontró una universidad en Alabama llamada la UAB. En su Departamento de Estudios de Dragón, había un investigador que se llamaba el doctor Gullible. Había estudiado los dragones durante muchos años y era especialista en mutaciones. Blaze tuvo que ir a Birmingham para ver si el doctor Gullible podría ayudarlo. Él tenía que ver si podía ser normal y ser como los otros dragones. Sin embargo, él no tenía medio de transporte. Su padre era serpiente y su madre era sólo un pequeño pájaro. También, los otros dragones no querían ayudarlo. Pero él todavía quería ir. Así que él decidió nadar de Groenlandia a los Estados Unidos. A Dragon from Greenland
Blaze is a green dragon who is from Greenland, where everything is green. His mother was a bird and his father was a snake. But his father was no ordinary serpent. His father seduced Blaze’s mother with the ancient energy of his great-grandfather that seduced Adam and Eve. Usually parents of a bird and a snake will produce a giant dragon that can breathe fire. However, this evil energy caused a chromosome within Blaze to mutate, which made Blaze into a human-sized dragon. Apart from the shortness in stature, he could not breathe fire because a dragon’s fire comes from his pride and confidence, but Blaze had no confidence whatsoever. All of his life, Blaze could not fit in with other dragons. They all made fun of him for being too small and not being scary. Blaze decided it was time for a change. He researched on the Internet to find help. Then, he came across a school in Alabama called UAB. In its Department of Dragon Studies, there was a researcher named Dr. Gullible. He had been studying dragons for many years and specialized in mutations. Blaze had to go to Birmingham, Alabama to see if Dr. Gullible could help. He had to see if he could be normal and be like the other dragons. However, he did not have a way of transportation. His father was a snake and his mother was only a small bird. All of the other dragons did not want to help him. But he still wanted to go. So he decided to swim all the way from Greenland to the United States. However, swimming all that way for many weeks soaked and dissolved his scales and left him with furry hair. From Georgia, he walked several days to get to Birmingham. Once he arrived at Birmingham, he met with Dr. Gullible. He said that Blaze had a mutation on chromosome 666 (dragons have more chromosomes). It would be hard to repair the chromosome but the researcher said there was a way. However, it would take a lot of money to fund for the research and formulate a repair mechanism. And also, Dr. Gullible said the damage of the scales was irreversible. So, Blaze tried to look for a job. However, nobody would take him seriously. But there was one opening at UAB for a school mascot. The school said it was looking for a green mascot who was not too intimidating, so it was perfect. Also, the job did not pay much, but it would give a chance for Blaze to become big and fit in with the other dragons. And although he would not get his scales back, all he wanted to do was fit in with the other dragons. That was all he ever wanted. So he started working from 1996. He appeared at all UAB football and basketball games. Now, 20 years have passed. Many say he is still working to save money. And many others say the story of Blaze is not even true. However, the few wise have said that perhaps Blaze has already come up with the money and that the treatment was offered to him. But Blaze never took the treatment because he is happy where he is. He does not have to prove himself to the other dragons anymore. He has found his place. He has found a home in Birmingham. But maybe the wise are wrong and he is still working today to get the last bit of money. Whatever it is, Blaze has a home at UAB, as a Blazer forever.
