UAB Ambassadors

The UAB Ambassador Program, founded in 1978, is the University’s oldest and most prestigious student leadership opportunity. This group of dedicated students is committed to serving the University as the official hosts and hostesses at recognized University activities and events. Ambassadors collectively give more than 5,000 hours of service to various campus departments throughout the year and have established a respected reputation of integrity, service, and tradition.

This group of student leaders can be seen greeting patrons at the Alys Stephens Center, hosting dignitaries at University receptions, leading campus tours for prospective faculty, welcoming families at commencement ceremonies, ushering visitors into the UAB Alumni House, and serving the University through dozens of other unique assignments.

The UAB Ambassador Program is coordinated through The Office of Student Involvement and Leadership and is designed to assist each Ambassador in maximizing their personal, social, and intellectual growth.

How to Become an Ambassador

Applications for the UAB Ambassador Program will be available in January, accessible through BSync. Ambassadors are selected each spring in coordination with the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership’s Student Leader Selection. Information Sessions will be hosted during Student Leader Selection to provide additional information for students interested in applying. At the conclusion of Student Leader Selection, 22 outstanding students will be selected to serve as 2018 UAB Ambassadors.

Membership is open to all UAB students (undergraduate or graduate) enrolled fulltime and have completed one semester of course work.
