The UAB Ambassador Program is the oldest and most prestigious student leadership opportunity on campus. This group of dedicated students is committed to serving the University as the official hosts and hostesses at recognized activities and events of the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
This select group primarily serves as a liaison between the students, faculty, staff, administrators and the entire UAB community. At all times, they embody through their demeanor and speech everything for which UAB stands.
Functions of the Ambassadors include providing information and assistance to UAB administration, faculty, staff, student body and visitors. This program is coordinated through Student Involvement and Leadership at UAB.
How to Become an Ambassador?
Selection of UAB Ambassadors occurs each spring. The ambassador application will be available in early January. Application submissions are due by February 1st.
Once Ambassadors are selected they will begin training in the spring semester and will begin official duties as an Ambassador at the Spring Commencement.
Requirements To Apply
- Completed application
- 2 letters of recommendation
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- One completed semester as a full time student
- 10-15 minute personal interview
