1LT Gabriel Horne was born on May 6th, 1998 in Matthews, North Carolina. In August of 2016, he began attendance at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina. At NC State he was a member of the Wolfpack Army ROTC Battalion and Phi Sigma Pi National Honors Fraternity. His senior year of college he branched Signal, his top choice, and was detailed to the Infantry. In July of 2021 he married his wife McKayla.

In May 2020, he graduated Cum Laude from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a Concentration in Finance. He commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army through NC State’s Army ROTC program.

Upon Completion of the Infantry Basic Officer Leaders Course (IBOLC) at Fort Benning, Georgia in May 2021, the 2LT Horne attended Infantry Mortar Leaders Course (IMLC) and US Army Airborne School. On November 4th 2021, he was assigned to the 3-15 “Can Do” IN BN, 2 ABCT, 3rd Infantry Division.

In March of 2022 he earned his Expert Infantrymen’s Badge (EIB) at Fort Stewart, Georgia. In April of 2022 he was selected to serve as a Rifle Platoon Leader in Apache CO, 3-15 IN. Upon Completion of the National Training Center rotation 23-05 in March of 2023 he was selected to serve as the Patton Intern at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in May of 2023.

1LT Horne’s military education includes Master Educator Course, Common Faculty Developmental Instructor Course, Unit Movement Officer Course, Airborne School,

Infantry Mortar Leader Course (IMLC), and the Infantry Basic Officer Leadership Course (IBOLC).

His awards and decorations include the Army Commendation Medal (1OLC), Army Service Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Basic Parachutist Wings, and Expert Infantrymen’s Badge (EIB).
