Christina McClellan is the collections manager and coordinator of exhibitions and programs at AEIVA.  Christina began her career at AEIVA as the contract installer for the AEIVA inaugural exhibitions in January 2014, and was hired on full time shortly after to oversee exhibitions, collections, and events. Her passion lies in exhibitions, interpretation, and programming; finding ways to make the collection and exhibitions more engaging and accessible to the public. Christina also holds an adjunct faculty position with the Department of Art and Art History as an internship supervisor for AEIVA.

After receiving a B.A. in History from the University of Alabama, Christina graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a M.A. in History and a M.S. in Museum and Field Studies. For her master’s project, she developed, designed, installed, and initiated programming for her exhibition entitled The Archaeology of Chimney Rock at the University of Colorado Museum of Natural History.

Christina’s career in museums started in 2007 with a volunteer museum internship and has since included internships and graduate assistantships at the Birmingham Museum of Art in Birmingham, AL; Handel House Museum (now Handel and Hendrix) in London, United Kingdom; the University of Colorado Museum of Natural History in Boulder, CO; and the History Museum of Mobile, in Mobile, AL, where she assisted with the design and install of their 2012-2013 comic book exhibition Up, Up, and Away. In addition to her work in museums, Christina has taught Western Civilization Parts 1 and 2 for the Jefferson State Community College Dual Enrollment program since 2014, and recently served as an editorial contributor for an upcoming edition of Our Western World volumes 1 and 2 for western civilization history classes.
